Hello Jesus ("we," "us," "our") is a contemplative iOS application for daily scripture, AI-guided reflection, and voice prayer. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app and website.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

• Chat messages — text you type in the reflection chat. These are sent to our AI service (Google Gemini) to generate scripture-based responses, and are stored locally on your device.
• Voice conversations — speech you share in voice mode. Your voice is processed in real time by ElevenLabs Conversational AI (using Anthropic Claude) to provide spoken responses. Transcripts are stored locally on your device.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Analytics data (Mixpanel) — we use Mixpanel to understand how the app is used and improve the experience. Mixpanel collects device type, operating system, app session data (when the app is opened and for how long), general location (city/region/country level only — never precise GPS), and interactions within the app (e.g., which features are used). Mixpanel does not collect your name, email, phone number, or any personally identifiable contact information.
• Subscription data (RevenueCat) — if you subscribe, RevenueCat processes your purchase through Apple's App Store. RevenueCat receives transaction data (purchase history, subscription status, expiration dates), device identifiers for syncing subscription status across your devices, and the last time you used the app. RevenueCat does not receive your name, email, or payment details — Apple handles all payment processing directly.

2.3 Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect your name, email address, or phone number
• We do not require an account to use Hello Jesus
• We do not collect precise GPS location
• We do not collect contacts, photos, or health data
• We do not use advertising identifiers or tracking pixels

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide the experience — your chat and voice messages are processed by AI services to deliver scripture-based reflections
• To improve the app — anonymous analytics help us understand which features matter and where the experience can be better
• To manage subscriptions — RevenueCat verifies your purchase, prevents fraud, and syncs your subscription across devices
• For safety — our local crisis detection system checks messages for signs of distress before they reach any external service, and provides immediate crisis resources

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following services to power Hello Jesus. Each handles data in accordance with their own privacy policies:

5. Data Storage and Security

• On-device storage — your chat history, voice conversation transcripts, and onboarding preferences are stored locally on your device using iOS standard storage. This data is not uploaded to our servers.
• Audio cache — pre-recorded daily verse audio files are cached on your device for offline listening. These are scripture readings, not recordings of you.
• No cloud backup by us — we do not maintain a server-side copy of your conversations. If you delete the app, your local data is permanently removed.

6. Your Choices and Rights

• Delete your data — uninstalling Hello Jesus removes all locally stored data, including chat history and voice transcripts
• Manage subscriptions — you can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID settings (Settings > Your Name > Subscriptions)
• Opt out of analytics — you may limit analytics collection by enabling the "Limit Ad Tracking" or "Ask App Not to Track" setting on your iOS device
• Request data deletion — for any data held by our third-party services, contact us and we will facilitate the request

7. Children's Privacy

Hello Jesus is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to remove it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
