The short answer

The Bible does not say anger itself is always wrong — it acknowledges anger as a real human emotion. What matters is what you do with it and whether you let it take root in your heart.

What Scripture Says

"'Be angry, yet do not sin.' Do not let the sun set upon your anger."

Ephesians 4:26

"My beloved brothers, let every man be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger."

James 1:19

"For man's anger does not bring about the righteousness of God."

James 1:20

"A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger."

Proverbs 15:1

"A patient man has great understanding, but a quick-tempered man promotes folly."

Proverbs 14:29
