The short answer

Psalm 34:18 says, 'The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.' In your grief, God does not stand at a distance — He draws closer to you than ever.

Grief is one of the heaviest things a human heart can carry. God does not minimize your pain or rush you through it. He draws near to the brokenhearted — not to explain the loss, but to be with you in it. And He promises a day when every tear will be wiped away and death will have no more power.
