What Does the Bible Say About Losing Someone?
The Bible honors the depth of losing someone you love. It tells us to grieve with hope — not because the pain isn't real, but because death is not the end of the story for those who belong to God.

"Brothers, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you will not grieve like the rest, who have no hope."
1 Thessalonians 4:13"For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, we also believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in Him."
1 Thessalonians 4:14"Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in Me will live, even though he dies.'"

Paul does not tell the Thessalonians to stop grieving — he tells them to grieve differently, with a hope that death cannot destroy. When you lose someone you love, you are allowed to weep, to ache, to miss them fiercely. But you do not grieve as those without hope, because Jesus defeated death and promises reunion for those who are His.
