The short answer

The Bible says 'do not fear' more than 300 times — not as a rebuke, but as a reassurance. God knows you will face fear, and His consistent response is: I am with you. You are not alone in this.

What Scripture Says

"Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will surely help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand."

Isaiah 41:10

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go."

Joshua 1:9

"When I am afraid, I put my trust in You."

Psalm 56:3

"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-discipline."

2 Timothy 1:7

Going Deeper

God's command to 'not fear' is always accompanied by a reason: because I am with you. He never asks you to be brave alone. David's honest prayer — 'when I am afraid, I put my trust in You' — shows that faith and fear can coexist. The goal is not to never feel fear, but to know where to turn when you do.
