What Is a Prayer for Courage?
A prayer for courage asks God to fill you with the same strength He promised Joshua: 'Be strong and courageous, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.' True courage comes from knowing you are not facing anything alone.
What Scripture Says
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go."
Joshua 1:9"Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid or terrified of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you."
Deuteronomy 31:6"The LORD is my light and my salvation — whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life — of whom shall I be afraid?"
Psalm 27:1"For I am the LORD your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, 'Do not fear; I will help you.'"
Isaiah 41:13Going Deeper
Biblical courage is not the absence of fear — it's the presence of God in the middle of it. When God told Joshua to be courageous, it was because Joshua was about to face something bigger than himself. The courage came from God's promise to go with him. That same God takes hold of your hand today and says: I will help you. You can be brave because He is strong.
