What Is a Prayer for Calm?
A prayer for calm begins by turning your attention from the storm to the God who commands it. Jesus calmed the actual wind and waves, and He can calm the storm inside you too.
What Scripture Says
"Then He got up and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, 'Quiet! Be still!' And the wind died down, and it was perfectly calm."
Mark 4:39"He calmed the storm to a whisper, and the waves of the sea were hushed."
Psalm 107:29"I will lie down and sleep in peace, for You alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety."
Psalm 4:8"May the LORD lift up His countenance toward you and give you peace."
Numbers 6:26Going Deeper
The disciples were terrified in the boat during the storm, and Jesus was asleep — not because He didn't care, but because He was not afraid. When He spoke, the wind and sea obeyed. That same Jesus is with you now. A prayer for calm is simply saying, 'Jesus, speak into my storm. I need You to quiet what I cannot quiet on my own.'
