The short answer

Giving anxiety to God means deliberately choosing to release what you're holding onto and trusting Him with it. First Peter 5:7 says to cast — actively throw — all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.

What Scripture Says

"Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you."

1 Peter 5:7

"Cast your burden upon the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken."

Psalm 55:22

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding;"

Proverbs 3:5

"Commit your way to the LORD; trust in Him, and He will act."

Psalm 37:5

Going Deeper

The word 'cast' in 1 Peter 5:7 is not passive — it's the same word used for throwing a net or a garment. It's an active, deliberate choice to take what you're gripping tightly and throw it onto God. This might look like praying, 'God, I'm handing this to You. I choose to trust You with it even though I want to keep controlling it.' You may need to cast the same worry ten times in a day, and that's okay. Each time, He receives it gladly.
